On 23rd January 2014, the news has landed with Squarespace logo!
What is this all about?
Apparently, everybody can now create a logo in a few minutes and for almost no cost.
However, the question remains: will this be a quality design?

By just stepping back from the global online community, and to actually compare what is going on with website templates, there are no fear or drop in new websites by qualified and professional web designers.
Nowadays, internet users want quick and instant results. Patience is rare. It has to be a quick fix.
…Squarespace’s Logo service isn’t in competition with the work of good designers. It’s merely a (pretty good) creative tool to help those visualise their own ideas…Source
We are living in a digital era and it is rather obvious that being gifted and different – as in eye catching – is essential.
Everyone is online and are able to have a web presence. It is a kind of achievement for some. Then we can bring this to the next level: will your online store be appealing and will the navigation make or break the customer experience. UX designers are the experts in this field.
Overall, bland, familiar and boring logos never win.
Squarespace logo can be seen as a helpful tool to get something quick and temporary – or eventually a sketch as a guideline for something more polished a by an established design studio.
No one can be fooled by something cheap.
Standing out of the crowd has to be considered and there is a price and quality for such service.
